New Blog Look, New Books - #LynnCrain #Back2Writing #Escape2Africa #BloodfeatherMysteries

I know I haven’t been here since Christmas, but it was for a really good reason. In January 2017, my husband of 31 years was diagnosed with colon cancer. Unfortunately for my writing, the priorities thing kicked in, as it should, and getting him well took precedence over everything.

Now, that didn’t mean I didn’t write. It just wasn’t on the massive scale I was used too. I went from writing about 5000 words a day to maybe 1000 every other day. I wrote when I got small snatches of time and I planned. Planning things is easier for me than actually writing it and when things settled down with my husband, I wanted to hit the floor running.

Well as of this week, he is officially done with his chemo treatments and for all intents and purposes is 100% cured. However, they won’t say that until at least five years have passed. Until then he’ll have tests every six months for the first year then yearly afterwards. What it means for me is that I can go back to writing and all the other things I do in reference to my writing. This is a happy day.

Some of the things I did do while he was ill was to get my website revamped. The new look has also translated to this blog, to my Facebook Author Page and my Twitter account. I love the new look because it says it all about me. I write all sorts of romance and want the world to know that. Don’t you just love the colors?

Also during that time, I was fortunate enough to get a couple of stories done. Here’s the scoop on both of them.

Anthology Blurb:
Take a trip to fascinating, breathtaking, beautiful Africa, without ever leaving your home! These stories will send you on a journey filled with danger, love, and excitement. Travel from Casablanca to Morocco, across the plains of the Serengeti, to the ruins of Carthage, from the desert of Algeria, to the shores of Tripoli. Six international romance authors share spellbinding love stories told across time.

This collection includes romantic suspense, and contemporary, historical, time travel, and paranormal romances by Award-Winning and Multi-Published Authors: Denyse Bridger, Lynn Crain, Alicia Dean, Gemma Juliana, Marie Laval, and Jenny Twist.

Story Blurb:
A Pirate’s Lady – Time Travel Romance - Lynn Crain
Someone is trying to change time and it’s up to Amanda Hoskip to figure out the hows and the whys. When she is sent back to 1794 Tripoli, she knows it will be hard to blend in during a time where women are chattels. When her universal translator fails, she’s captured and when the imprisoned Americans can’t identify her, is immediately sent to Bashaw Yusuf in the pirate port of Tripoli.
Trevor Haines loves his job but this will be the furthest he’s ever had to go back in time. Yet, his mission should be easy – find one girl and whisk her away for debriefing as it’s obvious she’s failed her mission. Once there, the now harem girl Mandi digs in her heels and refuses to return until they discover what is happening. He has no choice but to act as if he’s her pirate husband and wants her back. First, he needs to convince the Bashaw that she ran away and that he really wants her back.
Together, they’ll need to keep their wits about them during a treacherous time in history and return safely with their future intact.

Blurb:
Madison Bergman goes to the only home she’s known to recover from the death of her beloved uncle, Jonas Blackhorse. It is her hope that she be allowed to keep their summer cabin but since she doesn’t have a drop of Native American blood it’s doubtful. She just never thought she’d see the love of her life once again.

Lucas Bloodfeather has waited fifteen long years for Maddie to return to him. The tragic death of her uncle, and his mentor, sends her home after a long investigation into the mission, which exonerated her beyond any doubt. He has little time to prove to her they belong with each other.

Together they must forge the bond they had in youth and discover, home truly is where the heart resides.

Excerpt:
She pulled back, flushing with indignation as she gave him an icy stare. “I don’t think—”
“That’s just it…do not think…feel.”
His tongue moved to her earlobe, as his mouth blew first, then his teeth nibbled a little before moving toward her mouth. The kiss felt like coming home, where suddenly the world righted itself and her body parts acclimated to familiar territory. Letting out a groan, she moved to straddle him.
“You’re vulgar…” she stated as she regarded him. He too had been part of the native world her uncle lived in…how could she have just walked away?
Hot and raw, carnal energy passed between them. She had known better than to get within two feet of him, as they had never been able to keep their hands off each other. Why did she think she could resist now after fifteen years? She placed her hands on his chest and breathed deeply.
“I told you to quit thinking.” His calm voice reassured her in ways nothing else could.
He pulled her to him as his mouth took possession of hers, lips brushing back and forth over her own. His mouth opened, asking for permission to take more and she readily gave it to him. Madison was eager for the taste of him, the feel of his tongue stroking hers, craving his body’s strength. She didn’t have to wait long as his tongue dipped inside and seduced her with hot, profound glides.
Wanting more, her fingers worked at the buttons of his shirt, never moving away from the kiss. His smooth chest was warm, palpable against her hands, something real that she could hold onto. He was no longer the young man she remembered, but now someone who knew exactly what he wanted and what he was doing.
He pulled away from her, tracing the curve of her lips before dipping back in to steal another kiss. Finally, he tipped her head back and cradled it in his large palm, gazing into her eyes as if looking for something.
She breathed in deeply, aware of him in every pore of her body—his closeness, the outdoorsy scent that was special only to him, the heat of their skin-to-skin contact. This coming together would be like no other.
“I just have one question.” His breath was ragged as she felt the bulge in his pants just below her crotch.
“And…” she whispered, breathless.
“We could make love here…” He stopped before continuing, as if gauging her response. “We can make love in a bed…or there’s even my squad car out front.”

Last but not least, in celebration of everything I’m doing a Rafflecopter with a wonderful group of ladies. You can win some great prizes and find some fabulous authors.

I hope you like the new look, will check out the new stories and come back again. I promise not to neglect this place for so long. Yeah, I’ll be doing at least a blog a week now that life has returned to normal.

Thanks for dropping by and see you soon!

My Sexy Mystery ~ @oddlynn3 #LynnCrain #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #MSS171

Welcome to Week 171 at My Sexy Saturday and thanks for being here with me. This is the last My Sexy Saturday until after the New Year and while I love doing this, I’ll also welcome the break. Holidays are hard only in the fact that we all seem to be so busy, we don’t know which end is up.

I am no exception to this rule as today I have two blogs to put up, more shopping to do and even a booksigning to attend. So, if any of you are in the Las Vegas area, don’t hesitate to drop by and see me at the Barnes and Noble on Stephanie in Henderson, NV. I’m there with the Wyked Writers and the ever lovable Gini Koch of DAW’s Alien series. She’s awesome, we’re awesome and it would be awesome to see this.

This week the theme is My Sexy Mystery and I love mysteries but alas, I don’t really have anything I call a mystery. I have books where things have to be solved but to me a mystery is like what Craig Johnson of Longmire fame. Now there’s a great mystery and those I don’t have. But what I do have this holiday season is my Christmas story and here’s a little bit more about it. The first single in the Time Travel Bureau series, Sealed With A Kiss, will be released next month. It originally appeared in the Letterbox Love Stories anthology. Right now, I’m talking about the second in the series, Her Magical Vienna Christmas, that was published on December 1. It is in the Holiday Magic anthology and it’s available at all major ebook venues for just $0.99. That’s right…you can get 5 yes five…amazing stories for a mere $0.99. Don’t forget to get your copy today! Here’s the setup:

Cryptographer Elizabeth “Lizzie” Camden is more in tune with numbers, cyphers and puzzles than she is with the real world. When her job takes her back in time to 1874 Vienna, she’s more than surprised to find Michael Sondervan there as well. She hadn’t seen him since college when he broke her heart.

Michael has always regretted the way things turned out between him and Lizzie. When he needs someone to figure out the cryptic warning, he knows he needs the best. And Lizzie is the best. Giving her a magical Vienna Christmas in the bargain, he hopes will bring them together and prove his love to the only woman for him.

Lizzie and Michael are a hot couple destined to rediscover their love for each other, for history and the life they plan to have. Vienna is one of the best places to be in the world at Christmas and to write about. I love revisiting it again and again. Here’s my seven paragraphs from this wonderful story:

Even with the snow falling, the Graben was a hub-bub of activity. Although the shops didn’t look that different on the outside from what existed in her reality, she knew they would be totally devastated in World War II. It wasn’t until much later, in the 1950s, that they would finally be allowed to stand on their own when the last Russian left the city. So much history and she was privileged enough to see it.
Lizzie gripped Michael’s arm when she saw police beating starving people and even children. Some of them appeared so pathetic as she looked at their rag-tag appearances. Their clothes were hardly warm enough for a cold winter. She tugged fiercely toward one of them but Michael held her in place.
“Look at me,” he whispered in her ear. When she turned, he kissed her again. “Remember this is how people were, not how people are in our time. We have come a long way.”
She nodded and kept her eyes on the ground in front of her. Finally, they turned off the main thoroughfare and down the side street of Jungferngasse, then again down a little path. Hidden away from the street was a small bookstore.
“This appears to be the place. Shall we go in, darling?”
She smiled as he pulled the door open for her. Inside there were many bookshelves and even books stacked on the floor. Lizzie managed to push herself in, though the fit was tight right at the door. Picking up a tome or two, she was surprised to see originals of some titles. Even then certain books in mathematics or physics were treasures. Gently replacing one of the books, she waved her hand in front of her face as the dust rose. It looked as if some of these hadn’t been dusted in weeks.
Proceeding to where she suspected the proprietor might be, she continued to gaze around to see if anything else caught her eye. Maybe his having a page from an Enigma machine code book was just a fluke regardless of what Derrick had told them. Turning around, her astonishment grew as she didn’t see anyone minding the store. Turning to Michael, she heard a thump behind her, much like a fist connecting to flesh. The feverish whispers in German made her lift her finger to her lips and point in the direction of a door.

This anthology is available now and along with my great story, you’ll be getting four other wonderful Christmas heart warmers.

Also, check out eXtasy Books, my traditional epublisher, who is having a sale on my books, many at just $0.99. The link will take you directly to my books. They have also bundled the first five of my Santa’s Elves stories as well and it is on sale at nearly half off. WooHoo…just in time for Christmas. You’ll also find my Christmas release, Santa’s Miraculous Christmas on pre-order right now.

Sexy in Space ~ @oddlynn3 #LynnCrain #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #MSS170

Welcome to Week 170 at My Sexy Saturday and thanks for being here with me. Holiday season has arrived and I’ve seen wondrous things here in New Mexico. Lots of lights and luminaria. I love those. And it’s been cold…really cold…with a dash of snowflakes here and there.

This week the theme is Sexy in Space and there is nothing more sexy than having your own ship and flying around the universe. But alas, I do not have a new space adventure so I’ll be going back to my holiday time travel romance. The first single in the Time Travel Bureau series, Sealed With A Kiss, will be released next month. It originally appeared in the Letterbox Love Stories anthology. Right now, I’m talking about the second in the series, Her Magical Vienna Christmas, that was published on December 1. Lizzie and Michael are one of my favorite couples as the rediscover their love for each other, for history and the life they plan to have. Vienna is a wonderful place to write about and I love revisiting it again and again. Here’s my seven paragraphs from this wonderful story:

“Not here. Here, we’re part of the aristocracy and that in itself has drawbacks.”
She’d never been part of an elite class in her life and was very glad she wasn’t. Yet, in the here and now, life was very different and the attitudes foreign to her. Never in her life had she been so glad to have Michael by her side as now.
“Of course, you’re right. Even dressed as I am, and seeing what I’ve seen, it still hasn’t quite sunk in where I am.”
He gazed into her eyes and pulled her close. “We’ll be fine.” He gently settled the cloak around her, allowing her a moment to luxuriate in the soft fur lining. “Let’s go, the carriage should be waiting.”
The butler appeared out of nowhere, it seemed, and opened the large front door. When she’d first seen the magnificent piece of wood, she didn’t understand why it was so wide. Now that she was trying to shuffle her skirt through, she totally understood. She turned slightly to fit her big bulk through, right on the heels of Michael, who had stopped dead in front of her.
Large snowflakes were falling from a gray sky. What little light there was formed a reflection on the magnificent little pieces of ice as they drifted to the ground. Lizzie looked around at the grounds and saw that there was a slight sheen of white everywhere. She glanced up at the sky as flakes fell on her nose, eyelashes and hat.
Michael turned to her. “Do you know how beautiful you are?” His lips swooped down to hers and held her in a tight kiss. Slowly and languorously he assaulted her senses, driving her to the point where she wanted to ditch the afternoon's adventures and go right back upstairs. Pulling away from her, he regarded her.

My Sexy Dreamer ~ @oddlynn3 #LynnCrain #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #MSS169

Welcome to Week 169 at My Sexy Saturday and thanks for being here with me. The holiday season has arrived and with it all the wonderful Christmas stories that make readers happy. I know I love the season and recently we experienced our first snow in New Mexico. It was a wonderful sight.

This week the theme is My Sexy Dreamer and there is nothing more sexy than time travel. I love time travel and have a series just for it called the Time Travel Bureau. It has agents that go out and make sure no one is messing with time as we know it. It’s fun and wonderful and exclusively available in the anthologies I do with the World Romance Writers. The first single in the series, Sealed With A Kiss, will be released next month. Today, I’m talking about the second in the series, Her Magical Vienna Christmas, that was just published on December 1. It is in the Holiday Magic anthology and it’s available at all major ebook venues. Don’t forget to get your copy today! Here’s the setup:

Cryptographer Elizabeth “Lizzie” Camden is more in tune with numbers, cyphers and puzzles than she is with the real world. I loved writing about Lizzie and Michael as the rediscover their love for each other, for history and the life they plan to have. Vienna is a wonderful place to write about and I love revisiting it again and again. Here’s my seven paragraphs from this wonderful story:

Lizzie snuggled deeper into the warmth of the bed. She hadn’t slept so well in years. It was quiet as the palace was set back from the street and its noise. Stretching, she squeezed her eyes shut for another quick minute. When she opened them, she jumped as Michael sat in the chair by the window.
“How long have you been there?” Her voice was raspy, all sexy and low.
He arched a brow and chuckled. “Long enough.”
She pulled the covers up to her chin. “I’m not sure it’s fine for you to be in here. Aren’t we supposed to be maintaining some sort of decorum according to the time we’re in?”
“What’s wrong, Lizzie? Afraid I’ll see something I haven’t before?” He clasped his hands, eyes gleaming. “Or is it that you want something more?”
Hell, she hadn’t been here even two days and he was filling her head with innuendo and thoughts of sex. Taking a deep breath, she examined him from head to toe. Two could play this game. He was dressed in a light heather gray suit. It hugged him in all the right places and if he’d just stand up… “What did you have in mind?” she purred, pushing the covers out of the way to start crawling over them toward him.
Surprised, he moved further back in the chair, his eyes wide. “Don’t play with me. I’m not the guy you shoved out of our apartment anymore.”

This anthology is available now and along with my great story, you’ll be getting four other wonderful Christmas heart warmers.

Sexy in the Sky ~ @oddlynn3 #LynnCrain #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #MSS166

Welcome to Week 166 at My Sexy Saturday and thanks for being here with me. For many of us, this has been a horrible week. Let’s just say, it’s going to take many of us lots of time to heal. It’s also going to take due diligence to make it right for every American. Enough said.

This week the theme is Sexy in the Sky and what is more sexy than traveling in space with two hunky, exotic male dancers. It has always been one of my dreams, traveling in space. Now, I’m too old to do it and so I have to live through my characters. Today’s story is one I’ve showcased here before, The Harvester. It is a fun, sexy, space opera type romp that was fun to write. Someday, I promise to write the sequel. Don’t forget to get your copy today! Here’s the setup:

Princess Sky Xera Nerezsh came to earth to avoid the normal succession to the throne. Being the oldest daughter, she will be required to murder her mother in order to secure her path to power. Sky loves her mother and refuses this way, choosing instead to disappear in the vast reaches of space. When her past collides with her present, she has to think quick on her feet, claim two men and a whole planet just to avoid the inevitable: a meeting with her mother. Along the way, she discovers true love and a burning need to be there for them always. Now if the other Harvesters can just keep to themselves, they’ll have no problems. But who said true love was ever easy.

I loved writing Jax, Zane and Sky. They were some of my most intriguing characters. Imagine yourself suddenly in place you so didn’t expect. Then to find some erotic partners, who only want to jump your bones…well…you get the idea. What can be more sexy than that? Here’s my seven paragraphs from this wonderful story:

She open the door and peeked inside. The men were still up against the bulkhead but curled around each other apparently for warmth. Sky went to stand over them, taking in just how they looked after a forced sleep. Some men were absolutely horrible after being shoved into a cell then woken up somewhere along the way. Not these two. Jaxon and Zane were as handsome now as they were the moment she first saw them.
Hunkering down, she allowed a hand to wander over Jax’s hair. She wanted to pushed her fingers through to the back of his head and pull his full lips to her own. She turned to Zane and ran her hand over his hard biceps. Her breath hitched a moment and she wondered again just why these two affected her so much. More than that, she knew she wanted more than just sex as something knotted her deep inside where these two were concerned.
She licked her lips in anticipation of what might happen, of what she wanted to happen. They had been in their dressing room when she took them, so both had light robes on over their kilts. She pushed the fabric out of the way and ran her fingers down Jax’s firm abdomen. He had a very light smattering of hair, not quite noticeable whereas Zane was hairless but his body was just as muscular.
Boldness took hold of Sky and she wanted to touch them more, to fondle their packages just as if she had been a real Harvester again. Part of the job was to insure everything was in proper order. Sliding her hand down Jax’s front, she moved her hand under his kilt and a moan of pleasure rewarded her. She moved closer and felt the weight of his penis in her hand. It would be more than adequate in size once fully excited.
The man turned over and arched his cock toward her just a little. Sky moved her thumb across the tip and felt the organ jump a little. Wait a minute...she had barely enough time to get the words out in her mind when she found herself flat on her back as violet eyes moved over her.
“I want to know just what the hell game you’re playing.”

Check out eXtasy Books, my traditional epublisher, who is having a sale on my books, so once you’re at their website, please just look me up and they will list all my books as well as the ones that are on sale, many at just $0.99.

Don’t forget to check out the other My Sexy Saturday authors. They are all sharing great snippets from their books and they are hot, sexy plus well-worth the read.

Have a great weekend...see you next week!
